Network with Peers and Meet Prominent Corporate Supplier Diversity Officers, Minority Entrepreneurs and Non-Profit Community Leaders at the First Ever Twin Cities Alumni Networking Event and Social Hour

The newly-formed Twin Cities Alumni Network (an ad hoc collaboration between clubs from NYU-Stern, University of Pennsylvania, Wharton, Harvard, Yale and Columbia) extends a warm invitation to their alumni and guests, and those of clubs from Northwestern, Kellogg, Chicago, Booth, Brown, Princeton, Duke, MIT, UVA, Stanford, The Twin Cities Interclub, Washington U, and Syracuse to join in an alumni networking reception and presentation focusing on Supplier Diversity and Entrepreneurship.

An all-star panel will feature the following speakers:

  • Michael Byron, Vice President Supplier Diversity, SuperValu 
  • Molly Larson, Supplier Diversity Program Manager, Best Buy Company 
  • D. Craig Taylor, Director, Office for Business & Community Economic Development, University of Minnesota
  • Prince WallaceOwner and CEO, West Central Environmental Consultants, Inc., a leading minority entrepreneur who will share inspiring success stories as the owner of 3 small businesses.
  • KC Sumar, Founder and CEO of TAJ Technologies, Inc., a provider of high-quality IT project and staffing services to private sector, Federal and State government agencies
  • Dr. Tim  Childs, Ph.D., President, TLC Precision Wafer Technology, a leader in providing reliable and high performance products to customers in the millimeter-wave and high-speed photonic industries, including military and commercial telecommunications.

The Presentation and Panel Discussion

 

Hosted and moderated by Duane Ramseur, President of the Midwest Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC), a panel of Supplier Diversity Officers from Best Buy, SuperValu and the University of Minnesota will focus on the ways that shifting demographics are influencing large organizations and their supplier diversity initiatives.

Likewise, leading entrepreneurs, such as Dr. Tim Childs, PhD, (Stanford) who recently met with President Obama and the Pentagon,  will share how they are making their voices heard and contributing to the economy beyond traditional corporate set asides and government mandates.

 

Time and Location

The event will start at 5:30 p.m. on June 14th at The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis.  The panel discussion will start promptly at 6:30 p.m.  Ample parking is available on site.
